Neon signs in Poznań - historical pictures exhibition

In the past, Poznań was illuminated by the light of thousands of neon signs. The residents of Poznań most often described the lighting installations as flickering, colorful, and delightful. The glowing neons could be found on every corner of the street. For many years, they have been recognized as works of art, adorning the city.

For several years now, neons have started to arouse great interest. Again, they are being used as design elements. In 2015, the National Museum in Poznan has organized the exhibition, 'Poznań at Night, Glowing with Neons' ('Nocny Poznań w Blasku Neonów'), which proved to be a spectacular success. This time, it is Posnania that encourages you to see the historical pictures of Poznań neon signs, starting with the oldest illuminated inscriptions, through the 'neon boom' period of the sixties, to the end-times of this form of urban decoration, which happened in the eighties of the last century.

The photos can be viewed until the end of April in the Art Gallery at the Artists' Avenue - the entrance is located at the side of Rondo Rataje.
